What can I say?

Antarctica is an incredible, magnificent and almost unworldly place. I really struggle to convey what it is like.

It doesn't give itself up easily. Two days at sea through some of the world's most treacherous waters makes getting there alone an experience. And even in high summer the weather is cold and unpredictable.

But the pristine beauty of the place is profound; the abundance of wildlife incredible (most of it fearless of man), and the monumental sea-, snow- and landscapes more spectacular than I could ever have imagined. The feeling of being in a place far removed from the crazy goings-on of the rest of the planet is, in my experience, unique.

Truly, there is nowhere else like it.

My expectations of this trip were very high indeed but have been wildly exceeded every day by the White Continent and the enthusiasm, dedication and knowledge of the superb team who made the experience happen.

Hi Andy. Superb shots as ever. What are you editing them on? I can't imagine you're lugging a laptop round the world are you?
